Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2016

30th Surajkund Crafts Fair (Mela) is one of the most famous fairs, organized every year in Surajkund, Haryana, Near Delhi, by Haryana Tourism Department to promote handicrafts items. Many talented artists come from India and across the World to showcase their handlooms, handicrafts, traditional handicraft items of their respective states. It's starting on 1st of February.

Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2016A splash of colours, rhythm of drum beats and joy de-vivre merges at Surajkund in Faridabad, Haryana during the first fortnight of each February. It is a celebration of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage. This is an international event as it attracts hundreds of foreign travellers. The Mela sees a footfall of over a million visitors through out the fortnight. 

The Mela is organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. This year the state of Telangana has been chosen to be the Theme State. All the Indian states and 20 different countries will be a part of this huge gala festival. 

Telangana’s diverse crafts and dance forms will offer a veritable treat for visitors. Get ready to witness Telangana’s rich culture, tradition and exclusive artefacts made by the artisans that are in great demand throughout the world. Telangana’s historical designs on cloth and folk and traditional arts are well known and have been passed down to generations of artisans and weavers.
